What is home staging?

What is home staging?

Home staging is the act of preparing a private residence by filling it with things and styling to make it more eye-catching and appealing for sale in the real estate marketplace. It is the arrangement of furniture in a setting in a home.

Home staging isn’t just about decorating a home or residence, it’s more about objectifying a home so that likely buyers can imagine themselves living in the house. A staged home makes it appear to be lived in, the buyers can envision in their head what furniture piece or decor can be added and what could be removed to suit their taste. A staged home makes an impression that an empty home by transforming the property into an attractive place that is warm, welcoming, and appealing for any prospective buyer.

Why do I need home staging?

Home staging includes painting, furniture and accessory arrangements, refurbishing, improving landscapes, floral & mural decorations. You should note that the inclusion of glamorous furniture, accessories, and eye-catching decorations in a house towards improving the presentability is an example of home staging. Every activity in Home staging aims to make a house look much more presentable and attractive.
These days, if you’re selling a home and hoping for the best, you should not just put up a sign. No, it won’t be enough in most parts of the country! You need to take extra steps to make a good sale and to make it fast. Staging is the icing on the cake for buyers; it makes the home for sale appealing to their eyes and comfort, thereby selling the property in a short amount of time and paying more for it.
Buyers always have some expectations; home staging helps give them the awareness of the possibility of their expectations. If a buyer is a lover of decorative works of art and via the home staging you fixed works of art in the house, this will help the buyers urge to patronize you.

Should You Hire an Interior Stylist?

A trained interior stylist is a great investment for all the people who hope to build a home that is laced with comfort and beauty.

There are many reasons to hire an interior stylist but the following stand out

Styling or dressing up a home is beyond buying the best furniture or going for matching colors. If you agree to this, then you know something can be perfect on a market shelf and completely wrong for the structure of your home.

The size, and the shape of your furniture matter just as much as other things, and an amateur may easily miss these things. A trained interior stylist isn’t only going for the color but also looking out for the best size and shape to uplift your room.

Still on helping you to save money, the chances that a trained interior stylist works on the budget provided without getting lost or giving a sub-par service is high. An amateur on the other hand, may be clueless about budgeting even if they are excellent with other things.

You hardly come by constant mistakes when a trained interior stylist is at work because they are trained, and are rich in experience. An amateur, however, may not be able to rely on experience or training. Talent and ideas will help but mistakes may abound. When adjustment is done over time, things may extend longer than expected.

Also, an interior stylist is able to foresee challenges and tackle them head-on. We can not say the same for an amateur.

This is their world, and so it should be natural that they are connected to all types of resources and contacts; all of which would be used to make your house a better-looking one.

An amateur stylist may not know the right shop to visit for your career but your professional interior stylist knows. Your amateur stylist may not know the best and worst electrician in town but the chances that your professional interior stylist knows are high.

Therefore, using a trained interior stylist to achieve your dream style as you bring your home into light gives you access to the best workmanship and resources.

Many people are content to have a good design for their home. Don’t be like them especially when hiring an interior designer could mean that you get to experience something exceptional.

Why stop at an average design or style when there is a chance that you get the best?

The uniqueness, thoughtfulness, and the use of custom-made materials are set up by the trained interior stylist to provide the wow factor.

While the bulk of the work rests on the interior stylist when designing or styling a house, there is a need to collaborate with other professionals like an architect, or contractors. If the conversation that ensues between the stylist and any of the other workers is not laced with professionalism and experience from both ends, the amateur may be getting the worst part of the bargain. Here is why a trained interior stylist is important. With a professional, the homeowner can rest, assured that they are being represented by a qualified liaison.

The Major Areas Involved With Interior Styling

Interior styling encompasses varieties of things to make a place beautiful. When it comes to enhancing the beauty of your home, the following will always stay relevant when we consider interior styling:

Space

This is the gap between two objects in an environment. Even though many people often do not consider it, the gap between the chairs and the tables contribute to the beauty of the room. Not only this, the gaps between every object in a room play important roles when it comes to making the room more stylish. The gap in between objects is often referred to as negative space while the space that occupies the object is called the positive space. An interior stylist’s ability to use these spaces effectively makes them either a professional or an amateur.

Color

There is no styling without the appropriate use of color. One of the best ways to get it right with styling and decoration is the way you use your color. It is also one of the key ways to get it wrong with styling. Simply put, the colors you use are essential and hence, play a major role in making your building or room beautiful or not.

Color can make a room larger, lighter or cozier. Hence, it may have an effect on the mood.

Form

The shape of the room is just as important as the shape of the objects contained in the room. When it comes to styling, geometric, irregular and curvaceous shapes among others are important roles in helping to create a form of the room. Based on the equipment used and the aim, the form of a room brings softness or strength to the interior of a room

texture

Texture

How does your floor feel? How does the wall feel? And how does the furniture feel? These are some questions that you get natural answers to when you enter a room, and the answers are possible only if you can feel the texture of these objects.
Apart from the way your objects feel, the texture also answers to how they look. Some furniture, walls and floors look smooth while some look rough. In close proximity, some objects look finer, and are not the best to look at from afar.

Light

Light is an essential element of style and design in an environment. Natural light is just as essential for beautification as artificial light. Hence, the reason interior stylists position rooms, and windows to accommodate natural light. Artificial lights also contribute to the beauty of the home. Background lighting, and accent lighting are some of the artificial ways of providing light in your space.

Line

Lines are easy to miss in furniture, walls and even on the floors. They are also easy to miss during the arrangements of furniture. This is not to say that lines in a building do not play an important role in contributing to the aesthetics of the building.
The types of line which are horizontal and vertical lines are found in different types of objects in the home. For horizontal lines, objects like tables, embody them and they often make the room feel wider. Vertical lines on the other hand are represented by windows and the doors to a house. The vertical lines make the room seem taller.

Interior Styling

Sometimes, you enter a room and the aura attracts and compels you to stay for a long period. Other times, you enter a room, and can’t wait to be out. If you have ever wondered what makes the difference for both cases, interior styling is often the answer.

The size of furniture, the placement and the arrangement among other things can either make or mar the aura of a room. Colors, walls and carpet designs can either put us off or pull us in when we enter a room.

So, maybe interior styling is not ordinary. But, essential to our perception of a place and environment.

What is Interior Styling?

What is Interior Styling?

To style means to adorn, decorate or embellish a thing or person.

By extension, the interior styling is defined as the process of adorning, embellishing, and decorating a room to achieve a better-looking environment.

Interior styling is not aimed only at making a room/ environment look aesthetically pleasing. In most cases, good interior styling  evokes a fresh feeling in humans. If done exceptionally, interior styling – because of the comfort and ease it represents- can inspire great ideas in humans.

All of the above point to the fact that interior styling improves not only the physical beauty of your home, but also breathes life into it. Hence, there is no need to question the importance of interior styling.

What is Vacant Staging?

Vacant staging is the act of preparing an empty, for sale, residence by filling it with the necessary furniture and decor to make it more appealing to prospective buyers.

Showing prospective buyers a vacant home can confuse them on what choices to make because there isn’t a frame of reference to make their choices from. A vacant home lacks the warmth and appeal of a staged home. Buyers need to emotionally and psychologically connect to the home. Therefore, staging a vacant home is paramount over buyers compared to showing them an empty home.

Here are important reasons why you should consider vacant staging?

Staging an empty room covers and hides its flaws.  An empty room is like you walking naked around the neighborhood with all your flaws for the world to see. A naked room appears small, dreary, and below standard, if it’s not staged. Buyers tend to notice every detail and flaws in an empty room, but a staged vacant room is styled to fit the buyer’s tastes, there is warmth in the texture and arrangement of the room. A fully dressed room has all the appeal to entice a buyer quickly.

What do you feel when you look at a non-staged empty room? Do you feel connected to it? Can you see yourself living in it? No, you feel confused and don’t know where to start, you don’t know what to do with the empty room.

We at Archic Home Staging and Decorating Services give emotional connections to these empty rooms. We learn the buyers’ demography and carefully style these rooms to draw on those emotions for them to easily connect themselves with living in the residence.

An empty room is lifeless and cold – this isn’t an emotion a buyer wants to feel when choosing a home. However, a staged vacant room makes buyers fall in love and imagine themselves and their family living in such a home.

A non-staged empty room has no frame of reference; therefore, it makes the room look smaller than it is. Most buyers wants to have an heightened imagination of what their home should look like but can’t see beyond their noses what sizes and amounts of furniture will fit into the limited space. Most buyers don’t really have an idea of how to do furniture layouts in tricky living spaces. It’s needed to stage a room around its focal point and leave nothing untouched to the imagination of the buyers.

Why make your rooms appear smaller than they are when you can employ our services?

Finally, it takes more time to sell a vacant home than the time it takes to sell an occupied home that isn’t staged – this is not a bluff, it is a statistically proven fact.

Fran was an absolute pleasure to work with on our luxury home listing. She was able to accommodate my short time frame and any other last minute changes/requests that I needed. Her decor and design was beautifully staged. It complimented the existing furniture and accents of the home to create a cohesive look. She stayed in communication with me throughout the entire process and was accommodating to our busy schedule. Thank you so much for a great job! Will definitely use Archic Design again in the future!! Highly recommended.
